Installing SuiteCRM


This article covers the installation of SuiteCRM, an open source alternative to vTiger CRM.

Note* vTiger CRM is not supported by MijnHostingPartner.nl due to outdated technology (PHP 5.4)and no realistic requirements for our shared hosting packages, this is why we looked for an alternative. SuiteCRM shows up right away with good reviews and regular updates.

Step 1.
Prepare your hosting space by :
  • Set the write permissionsfor the wwwroot in the file manager.
  • Set the PHP version to the latest version (7.x).
  • Make sure the wwwroot is empty, except for the web.config file and some of our default files.
  • Download the installation file from SuiteCRM and upload it to the wwwroot.
  • Create MySQL database and user in the control panel + have the server at hand (MySQL 1 to 11).
  • Create a mail account at MijnHostingPartner.nl to use with the installation and SuiteCRM.



Step 2.
Unpack the zip in the wwwroot of your hosting space using the filemanager and put the website files directly in the wwwroot. After this, go to the URL of your website. You should be immediately redirected to the installation screen.

Step 3.

Agree with the terms and conditions and go to the check of your hosting space. Here you can see everything in a row and make adjustments where needed. The note you see in the lower left corner of the screenshot concerns the scheduled tasks. This task can be enabled in the control panel after the installation in the following way.

Step 4.
Enter your details in the manner described below. Do not press next yet.

Step 5.
Enter the SMTP data as described below:

After this press next to finish the installation, the config.php needs to be created with filezilla or the filemanager.


Step 6.
Add the necessary MIME Types still for SuiteCRM, svg and woff2. This can be done under websites -> mime types in the control panel.
