FTP connection not possible within KPN network

From several users we get reports that an FTP connection is not possible with the correct password and username within the KPN network. This is due to a recent change in the firewall of the modem which prevents this. The following steps can be followed to enable an FTP connection within the KPN network. You need to have access to the modem.

First doublecheck your FTP data if it is correct, you can do this by testing it on another network. Like a hotspot on your mobile phone. Does the data work there, then you know it is correct. If the data is also not accepted here with the following error message:

FTP connection not possible within KPN network

Then your data is not correct, and you need to set it correct first. This can be done in the following way:

When connected to the KPN network, navigate to your modem and go to the Firewall settings. You then have 4 levels to select.

Firewall features

High

Enable Firewall, IDS (IDS, DDoS, blocking WAN Ping) and WEB Filter.

Medium

Enable Firewall and IDS (IDS, DDos and blocking WAN Ping), Disable WEB Filter

Low

Enable Firewall, Disable IDS (IDS, DDoS and blocking WAN Ping) and WEB Filter

Off

Disable Firewall, IDS (IDS, DDoS, blocking WAN Ping) and WEB Filter

In this one, first try Medium and connect to the IP address of the hosting space, instead of your domain name.

How to do this can be read in the following article:

If still no connection is possible, you can set the Modem settings to Low. And then try the FTP connection again. After this you should be able to connect.
