Mails from MyHostingPartner are not received in Gmail
It can happen that an email message sent from your email address to a Gmail address does not arrive or is rejected. Follow the steps in this article to solve the problem.
Check your DNS records
The first step you can take to check that your DNS records are correct and do not need to be updated is to use our standard tool in the customer panel. Follow the steps in the guide below:
https://www.mijnhostingpartner.nl/client/knowledgebase/e-mail/email-dns-controleren-en-herstellen/
For the DKIM, DMARC and SPF records in particular, it is important to check whether they are configured correctly. You can check this after the DNS update using an external check, e.g. from:
You can then view the report and check whether it is correct. Do not test this with the standard test mail, as this is automatically regarded as SPAM. Therefore, test with legitimate mails.
Forwarding from MHP to a Gmail address
If you forward an e-mail address from MijnHostingPartner.nl to a Gmail address, this is only possible from a real e-mail address, not from an alias. So if you encounter this problem, make your alias a fully-fledged e-mail address. The forwarding should then work correctly.
Forwarding to a personal e-mail address is not a recommended method. Use your email address from MHP and set it up in your favorite email program or use it via webmail. Mails from a personal or free mail address, such as Gmail, look unprofessional and are not taken seriously by customers and business contacts.
Check the message headers in Gmail
If you need more troubleshooting information, you can access the headers of the message that came into Gmail and check from there to see what's causing it. To do this, navigate to the message that is believed to have arrived in SPAM and select View original from the options. This will show you the full log of the message and why certain actions are linked to it.
Here you can also mark the message and sender as not SPAM and add the email address to your contacts.
With these steps, you should be able to ensure that your email arrives correctly in Gmail. If you continue to have problems with this, make a note of the sender and time and let us know in a ticket to the helpdesk. We can then check this for you in the logs.
