Logo design
When starting a business and website, there are many things to check off, but a centerpiece of your entire business is the logo you carry. Although the logo may change over time, it is often a permanent foundation for your business.
You can easily outsource the creation of a logo to an agency near you or far away, but you can also create the logo yourself with a small investment of time. In this blog post, we would like to introduce you to one option that is user-friendly and (mostly) free to use.
Canva
Canva is a tool that is very popular with digital marketers, and for good reason. With a little training, you can create beautiful results that are specifically tailored to your needs. You can choose from many different designs and then customize them to suit your style and copy. A logo should look professional, and that's easy with Canva. Simply sign up for a free or paid account with more options and start creating your logo.
You'll immediately see a whole laundry list of templates you can use, paid parts are highlighted with a crown for the pro version. With the free option you can create many different logos, the only downside here is that the background cannot be made transparent without the Pro version, but again you can solve this by running the design through a generator for this purpose, such as the one from Adobe: https://www.
adobe.com/en/express/feature/image/remove-background/transparent The logo can be edited using Canva's simple menu items, so anyone can work with it, even without experience in this field. If you're willing to learn the ropes, you can quickly achieve beautiful results that can save you the cost of a logo maker.
Other options for your logo
There are also AI tools that can create a logo for you. In my tests, however, these are often not yet at the stage where you really want to use them for more complex logos. And you often have to do a lot of editing yourself before you can achieve a satisfactory result. If you outsource a logo to distant countries, you often get mixed results.
Finally, you also have the option of working with a local freelancer or agency, with whom you can often communicate what you want better and more easily. However, you will need to budget more for this as it naturally offers a more personal approach and you will have to pay for it. To do this, simply use a search engine of your choice and search for "logo design [name of city, town or region]". You will find several options that can help you. You can also take a look at freelance marketplaces where you can hire a freelancer for this task.
Using your logo on your website and in your email
To then use your logo on your website and in your email, it is often advisable to change the size of the logo, as this often reduces the loading time of your website. You can do this again with another online tool that we have often reported on, tinypng. This retains the transparency of the logo and often reduces it by half.
You can then use the logo on your website. If you use WordPress, you can easily set this up in the Customizer with the Site Logo option and the site icon, which can often be found under the Site Identity section, depending on the theme you are using. You can also set this up in the mail in the mail programs you use, e.g. in our webmail at the following location: https://www.mijnhostingpartner.nl/client/knowledgebase/e-mail/algemene-mail-informatie/logo-toevoegen-aan-handtekening/. Then upload your logo to a logical place within your website or use the link you have created for it in WordPress.
The importance of a logo
A logo is the central symbol of your brand and ensures easy recognition. Lettering or a website without a logo is of course also possible, but often looks unprofessional and is therefore not taken seriously.
What you want as a brand and company is of course that there are as few points as possible for a potential business partner or customer to reject. For example, start a contact request with a potential supplier for your product. If you do this with a free e-mail address and without a professional signature, you will end up directly in the SPAM folder.
If you do this with your own e-mail address, which you have created as part of the hosting of MijnHostingPartner.nl, and with a professional signature in which you integrate a logo, you will appear much more serious. The logo also forms a central point within your website and it is important to link the "Home" page to it, because this is a standard procedure that many users are used to and is indispensable on every website. How will you create or have your logo created? Show us the result and share it with us on social media! We look forward to seeing your result.
