Web.config vs htaccess

Therefore we always recommend to import any existing htaccess files into the web.config. This can be done easily through a number of online tools and we can also do this for you through IIS. Write access

Write permissions within Windows Hosting can only be assigned through the file manager in the control panel. Linux hosting is so that you can do this via FTP with chmod commands, this is not supported by Windows Hosting. In connection with security on your webhosting it is better not to use FTP.
