MagentoLive Europe coming to the Netherlands in October
If you have your own webshop then you will probably have heard of the CMS called Magento. This is a CMS that is specifically aimed at people who want to start their own webshop.
So when you want to run a webshop on your hosting this might be an interesting CMS to look at.
Magento is an Open Source system, this means that everyone can use it and create plug-ins for it.
We recently found out that MagentoLive is coming to the Netherlands, in this blog post we will discuss what this event and Magento exactly entails.
What is Magento?
Now you might be wondering what exactly Magento is and why you should use it.Magento is an open source CMS which is aimed at creating and maintaining webshops.
The system was launched at the beginning of 2007 and six months later the first test version was released on August 31.
In over a year and a half the system was downloaded more than a million times and in 2009 the paid enterprise version was released. One of the reasons why it has become so successful is because it is an open source system. This means that you can view the code of this CMS as you wish and modify it if you wish.
So if you are a developer it is great fun to take a look at it or to modify it. You can test the changes in your code on your webhosting. You can then, for example, create your own plug-in for Magento, you can possibly sell this on the Magento marketplace for a fixed amount.
What is MagentoLive
MagentoLive is an annual conference for Magento developers, users and other people interested in the system. Here they all go through what the future holds for Magento and what plans they have for it.
There will also be several speakers from Adobe and Magento at the various presentations about Magento. You also have the opportunity to get to know different people from the e-commerce world. This is also an ideal event if you want to network for your business.
