New customer panel coming soon
It has been in development for several years now, our own customer panel. We are now in the final stages of development and the customer panel is already active on our other partners. The new customer panel brings a lot of new functionality and a lot of other things. Let's explain them in this blog post.
First, this customer panel is entirely developed by us in house. This means that it is also completely in-house and we have total control over it. All code has been rewritten from scratch. This means that we were able to incorporate our own wishes and those of the customers and improve it where necessary. The following things have been improved and changed.
Speed in general
One of the most common complaints existing customers had about our customer panel is its slowness, for example, when opening the domain name list. You also encountered this slowness in many other places. Like searching the knowledge base, or opening an invoice. And so on. In our own system, we were one of the first to pick this up and fix it. For example, the new customer panel is many times faster to use than the old customer panel.
Editing DNS directly from the customer panel
Besides the nameservers, all DNS records can now also be edited via the customer panel. This makes it very easy to add something, without having to go to the control panel.
DKIM active by default with a mail account
As soon as a mail account is created a DKIM certificate is automatically added to the DNS zone records. This not only makes a mail address more secure by adding an extra handshake. It also reduces SPAM in the inbox. Something that is unfortunately a common complaint.
Enable two factor authentication on account
To improve account security we now also have the option to enable two factor authentication by default for a customer panel account. Using popular apps from Google or Microsoft, a temporary code can then be created, which is then used to log into the new customer panel. This is many times more secure than a single password check, and so we are strong advocates for using it.
Faster invoices and domain information
Opening invoices to view could take longer than desired in the old customer panel. Therefore, we have significantly improved the speed of each action that can be performed on an invoice. Also, with the new customer panel the domain information is not only quickly accessible. But also the DNS zone records can be edited directly from the clientpanel. Instead of being referred to the control panel first.
Clear Knowledge Base
One item we have always been proud of is our knowledge base. Any question you might have about hosting specific questions, about your website or about setting up an email account can be found here. And if you can't find what you're looking for, you can always report this to us so we can add an article for it. So this is expanded at many times and adjusted where necessary.
With the last update of the old customer panel, the clarity of the knowledge base has unfortunately deteriorated. In our new customer panel of MijnHostingPartner.nl we have made strong improvements so that not only the readability goes up but also finding the article you need.
The new Partner Points System
This part is still under development at the moment of writing, so I can't give hard figures about it yet. However, I can explain the idea behind it. The Partner Points system was created to give something back to our loyal customers. By performing certain actions, such as adding two factor authentication, you earn points in this new Partner Points system. With the earning of points you can apply for gift vouchers at, for example, bol.com. Or there is the chance for a fixed discount percentage on almost every invoice. We hope to reward our loyal customers and give something back.
New passwords are created
What will change for you as a customer is the exact change of the password of the customer panel. For all customers the password will be removed and will have to be reset in the customer panel. More information and an announcement about when this will actually happen will follow in the announcements and in an email that we send out about this.
Tickets have been improved
Creating tickets is also a point that we have improved, tickets are now easier to create. And have had some quality of life improvements. Now, for example, images or screenshots that we often ask for can be added directly from the snipping tool within Windows. That makes it easier to deliver to us the requested information.
The Partners get closer
MijnHostingPartner.nl is part of the parent company MijnPartnerGroep.nl. MijnPartnerGroep.nl is an initiative to offer a complete selection of services and products for a competitive price. You can get a container from MijnContainerPartner.nl, Hosting from MijnHostingPartner.nl, a complete backup solution from MijnBackupPartner.nl and a WordPress solution from MijnWordPressPartner.nl. All these partners use the same customer panel system, and can therefore work seamlessly together. And thus earn points in the Partner Points system that can be used with all partners.
