Internet Explorer becomes a mode within Microsoft Edge
Most of you will be familiar with the old program called Internet Explorer, because it was one of the first programs that allowed you to surf the Internet.The first version of Microsoft Internet Explorer came out on August 16, 1995, and it came standard with a purchase of Microsoft Plus for Windows 95.
It has been more than 20 years since the first version was released, and in an earlier blog post we also announced that Microsoft advises against using Internet Explorer.So it has been known for a while that Microsoft is slowly trying to move away from Internet Explorer, however earlier this month they announced that Internet Explorer will become a mode within Microsoft Edge.
What does this mean exactly
If you are still using Internet Explorer you will have to switch to Microsoft Edge, but now you might wonder if this will have any further impact on your hosting.The good news is that this has no impact on your website there are virtually no other disadvantages to this, for Microsoft itself there are great advantages.
Because they will continue to incorporate Internet Explorer into Microsoft Edge, Microsoft can further refrain from a standalone version of Internet Explorer and keep their promise to still support Internet Explorer.Microsoft will continue to support security updates for Internet Explorer 11, this also means that within Microsoft Edge will be updated however it is not yet known when this will be put live.
Alternative web browsers
It could be that you are still using Internet Explorer, if that is the case then it is really advisable to find an alternative.Now you can use Microsoft Edge but there are many more choices, one of our favorite browsers is the Brave browser.
