Akeeba backup error message - Joomla
When you have installed Akeeba backup in your hosting space for your Joomla website you can get an error message or a permanent backup when you try to make a backup. This has to do with the read permissions that the module needs on the top domain folder. This is off by default on your hosting space.
The backup requirements check can give a green light. The following must then be adjusted.
You will need access to the file manager in the control panel, after which you will see your domain name listed. Click the lock icon behind your domain name and check the read permissions, then click Set Permissons.
After that you can execute the Akeeba backup.
If you have any further questions or are still having trouble with something, you can contact our support via the chat or the ticket system. It is also advisable to look at the documentation of Akeeba.
