DNS redirection to Shopify
It is possible to have a domain name and mail package with us and then host your webshop with Shopify. In most cases you will then be cheaper.
Your mails are also hosted in the Netherlands and you are less dependent on Shopify.
To realize this, you must first take out a package with Shopify and have your store set up and activated. You can then join our customer panel:
https://www.mijnhostingpartner.nl/login/
Log in and navigate to Domains.
You can then select the domain name you want to transfer to Shopify. Click on the edit icon and go to the DNS records tab:
Click on the edit icon again. You will now see the active DNS records within your domain name. If you want to restore them in the future, create a backup copy of them by copying and pasting the entries into a file.
Change the following entries:
Align the A record with the Shopify IPv4 address: 23.227.38.65
Remove all other A entries on the domain, if they exist. In the default configuration on our site these are 3 entries. www A and *.
Add the AAAA entry as follows: 2620:0127:f00f:0005:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000:0000
Set the CNAME record named www to stores.myshopify.com. Make sure that the dot is included at the end of the domain.
Save the changes and wait ~24 hours as the DNS will be updated. After that, you should be able to activate your domain name in Shopify with the following steps:
In your Shopify admin, go to Settings > Domains.
Click on Connect existing domain.
In the Domain field, enter your domain, e.g. mydemopartner.com, and then click Next.
Click on Connect domain.
It can take up to 48 hours for your domain to be verified. After verification, your domain will be listed in the Domains section on the Domains page with the status Connected.
