Two-thirds of all email are insecure

Sending emails we all do it almost daily.Because so many emails are sent every day you can probably imagine how much spam is sent.A study by the security company called FireEye found that about two out of three emails are insecure.The company analyzed over a billion email messages.This is quite a lot of messages and it was even found that only 32 percent of these emails did not have harmful content.This study also examined email attacks.It turned out that only 10 percent of all attacks that went via email contained malware, think trojan horses, spyware or ransomware.

In 90 percent of all cases it is about attempts at phising or retrieving personal data.Phising can often be recognized by emails that supposedly come from a bank.In these types of emails, they often try to find out your bank details.The content of these emails is very often different, for example, it may say that your account is in danger of being suspended.You will then be sent to a fake website where you must log in with your bank details.

If you log in with your bank details, you will have lost your bank details and malicious people will have your money.It is therefore advisable not to react or click on links of mails that come from a bank.The same research has shown that the number of phishing attempts has increased by 65 percent compared to last year.Researchers say this is because emails are more easily stopped and therefore cyber criminals start using other ways to make money.
