End of Adobe Muse
The end of Adobe Muse
Adobe Muse is going to stop, Adobe announced last month through their announcements. On March 26, 2018, the last version update will be released for the program after which the intention is to transfer services to another solution. On March 26, 2020, Adobe Muse will be completely discontinued and support will no longer be provided for it either. This is a decision by Adobe that does not go down well since it is still actively used by many users. Why Adobe Muse became so popular after its launch in 2012 is because it is a way to quickly build websites without coding experience. Something that is still in high demand by users, designers and web hosts.
Putting together a website the traditional way requires a number of people. One for the back-end or technical nature. One for the front-end to make sure the CSS or style is incorporated, and finally a designer to take care of the first design or what the rest of the team has to work with / take into account. A program like Adobe Muse allows you to bypass this and basically put together your website hosting entirely by yourself without seeing a single line of code.
Rise of the freelancers
This is how a lot of sole proprietorships and freelancers came into existence who could put together a website for the local greengrocer or baker for a low price. Now, however, there are many more options available to put together your website hosting. A Content Management System such as WordPress revolutionized the way bakers and greengrocers work. With a CMS you can generally choose from a ready-made template or theme and put your content in it. This creates a large amount of websites that look alike and are not unique.
Where should I go after Adobe Muse?
That's a question that has no 1 answer. Either take a web development course and start coding yourself or switch to a Content Management System like:
- WordPress hosting
- Pagekit
- Umbraco hosting
- Craft CMS
- CMS made simple
- DotNetNuke hosting
- And so on
There are a lot of options available and we always recommend trying out a few before making your choice. This way you can assess for yourself which Content Management System you like best. In the end, you will have to work with it on a daily basis.
We hope you are able to make a choice between the Content Management Systems and if you have any questions you can always start an online chat to be informed. We have experience with almost all Content Management Systems so we can help you quickly.
